Autoimmunity Testing and COVID

I am sure you are all being bombarded with the latest news blasts about the different Covid vaccine offerings and feeling the pressure to conform and inoculate. I understand many of you feel the need to receive the vaccine in order to continue to travel, attend concerts or arts events and generally live life as usual (before March of 2020). Although these restrictions to life have not come to fruition as of yet, it looms on the horizon as a possibility.

That being said you may want to take certain precautions before exposing yourself to the current experimental vaccine options. As you all know, I deal extensively and have studied thoroughly the issues with vaccines and their potential side effects. One of the most onerous side effects is that of Antigenic priming and the initiation of autoimmune disorders that the adjuvants and other vaccine components may illicit.

That's right!! Vaccines may cause autoimmunity. I have had several patients that, post-immunization, have developed autoimmune diseases from Diabetes, Rheumatoid Arthritis to Myasthenia Gravis. If you have current autoimmunity such as Hashimoto's Thyroiditis you are especially susceptible to adverse effects from the vaccine.

Given the potential negative consequences, we are now offering a Lab test called the Cyrex Array Autoantibody profile that will test for predisposition to latent autoimmune tendencies. This tests for 24 different autoimmune markers that if present may increase the risk for negative outcomes from vaccines of any kind.

This is important to know if you are considering the vaccination or have people in your life who may be pressuring you to get the vaccination.
